Thank you to all the teachers and staff for your support. You have given her a wonderful introduction to school life, thanks to your care, she feels happy and confident about this transition. She will certainly miss her friends and everyone at the school.
I just wanted to convey our thanks for giving Taha the opportunity to take part in the public speaking event that was held at ARU yesterday.
It was such a confidence boosting experience for Taha. Observing other participants , he has also learnt valuable skills including the body language to carry on the stage and how to articulate ideas in a convincing manner. As parents we truly appreciate the time and effort the staff, especially Mr. Sewell had put in coaching the students.
We hope many more opportunities would continue to become available so that pupils can learn life skills along with academic excellence.
Thank you to the headteacher and all the staff at King Road Primary for hosting our staff and making them so welcome.

King’s Road Primary School continues to be one of our most valued partner schools in the Annual Public Speaking Competition at Anglia Ruskin University.
Each year, the programme begins in school with a whole-class workshop. This ensures that every single child develops the essential skills of public speaking. No one is left out. Every pupil learns how to:
- Speak with clarity and confidence
- Project their voice with purpose
- Structure ideas effectively
- Listen and respond as part of a team
- Discover their own public speaking superpowers
The sessions are fast-paced, engaging and inclusive. The atmosphere is vibrant and energetic, allowing children to practise skills in a supportive setting.
A second workshop then gives pupils the opportunity to experience all the roles within a public speaking team. Every child speaks. Every child participates. Every child builds confidence. The focus is teamwork, respect, and shared success.
Once the workshops are complete, class teachers select a team to represent the school at the University. King’s Road goes even further — bringing two teams to compete.
At last year’s competition at ARU, King’s Road Primary was recognised by the organising panel as an Outstanding Team. They were praised for:
- Exceptional team spirit
- Impeccable manners
- Encouraging and supporting one another
- Personally thanking the organisers
Their conduct reflected the school’s strong values and was noted by university staff and judges alike.
It is a real privilege to return to King’s Road again this year to prepare two new teams for the upcoming competition at Anglia Ruskin University. We look forward to building on last year’s success and continuing to develop confident, articulate young speakers who represent their school with pride.

Our residents are still talking about the visit and how well-behaved the pupils were. Not sure if you met her, but we have one resident who used to be a primary school teacher, and was explaining what she did many, many years ago.

Just a quick note to you to thank you for having me at your autumn disco at the school last night.
The children made the party for sure, the atmosphere was amazing. The children that had fancy dress on really put the effort in with their singing and their dancing.
As you may be aware, I host most of the Primary School Discos across Chelmsford, believe me when I say this the children at your school are so polite and well mannered it is a refreshing change to see. The children are definitely a credit to your school and to their parents.

"This year we are in 46 different Year 4 classes and are working with 46 different year 4 teachers. It is against this backdrop that I feel compelled to write this email.
I have just had two truly wonderful mornings in Kings Road with Miss Warrington, Mr. Burdge and the two respective Year 4 classes.
The workshops were an absolute joy to facilitate.
The classes are clearly so well prepared and have such a ‘can do’ attitude.
Both Miss Warrington and Mr. Burdge are exceptionally competent.
Working alongside them over the two mornings has been an inspiration.
We hear (and see) so much about the time constraints and the stresses associated with teaching. I observed patience, genuine interest in each pupil, kindness, and exceptional teaching.
It is very clear that the pupil comes first, that each pupil IS an individual.
We see these things written down as ‘mission statements’ or school mottos… I watched it in action and in truth, over the course of the two mornings…
It was wonderful to work with both Miss Warrington and Mr. Burdge, an honour and an inspiration.
Teaching truly is a vocation and these two staff members from Kings Road school are testament to that."
